Volunteer

Volunteers make up the largest percentage of the Guaruma team, and we would be lost without them! Guaruma volunteers stay for any period over 6 months and are key to running all three of our programs.

We usually recruit volunteers for January and June starts. The minimum requirements for a Guaruma volunteer are:

• Six (6) month minimum commitment
• Over 18 years old
• Specific skills (agricultural training, teaching experience, previous conservation work, computing, marketing)
• Willingness to work with kids and teenagers from rural, Honduran communities
• Intermediate knowledge of Spanish
• Willingness to help with administrative and maintenance tasks
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Willingness to live in a rural community
